Do you think anyone will notice?

10 March 2010 | Hair,Kristie

More importantly, how long before I stop reaching up there, wondering where it all went?

Before:

After:

For the record, although I did print out the Locks of Love donation sheet, when my hairdresser put it in a ponytail and cut it off, it wasn’t the required 10 inches needed to donate.  Not sure how many more inches wound up on the floor, but it did make me sad that the first cut probably wasn’t enough.

It looks great in the back…how does the front look? I keep switching from longish to shortish hair, can’t seem to make myself happy. Right now I’m in the “growing out stage”.

  • 2 Sheila Says:

Love it! You have such gorgeous hair, Kristie. We need a picture of the front now!!

  • 3 Lisa Says:

    Wow ………….

That is a big difference. do you want to go shorter?? what made you do it??

  • 4 davesanngel Says:

They will take less than 10 inch donations. They sell that hair to offset other costs. Also, Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign takes donations of 8 inches or more. If you still have the ponytail, you could still send it somewhere.

I like the back, but where is the front. I can’t imagine having that much hair. When mine touches my shoulders I grab the scissors and start whacking!

  • 6 M Says:

Its a really cute cut, it looks darker too!

  • 7 Jacqueline Says:

    Ok…now let’s see the front :)

  • 8 Marti Says:

Love it!! Can’t wait to see the front. My daughter wants us both to do Locks for Love. I am seriously considering – would save money in haircuts!! And an excellent cause.

Love your cut. I want to see the front also!!

Your hair is so beautiful, Kristie! My daughter donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths…..they only need 8 inches. Did you keep the ponytail??

  • 14 Amy Says:

You look fabulous! You hair looks so healthy – both before and after! Too bad you couldn’t donate it. Maybe next time – you’d make a great hair farmer ;o) Last time I donated mine, I was utterly dismayed to find out they would take dyed hair. I lived with greys WAYYY too long! wah!

Your hair is just incredible! Long or short, it’s gorgeous; now, give us a front shot! And I know you were disappointed that you didn’t have the length needed to donate; I hope you kept it and can explore the other options mentioned here.

WOW- I was just wondering the other day about your hair. I remembered you saying that you might cut it.
I can’t wait to see the front!!!!
    When did you do it?
Please tell me it was not this way on Saturday night and I did not notice!?

  • 17 Miscellaneous From Missy Says:

Oooh, pretty! Spring is in the air, no?

  • 18 Sandy Says:

Have you been putting way too much shampoo in your hand? When I first cut my hair, I always waste a lot!

I can understand the frustration. I want to donate my cord blood (due in about 6 weeks), but I keep getting blocked. It could be used to help some one, and I can not find a way to get it into the right hands!

  • 19 Amy Nasworthy Says:

I LOVE the new do!! I just cut all my hair off too and I love it. Doesn’t it feel great?!

  • 20 Denise Says:

    Kristi!

Oh my Goodness! Can’t believe you cut it off! I have always wanted your hair!

If you are happy, then I am happy for you! What does Blaine and the kids think about it?

  • 21 LeeAnne Says:

Kristi, I love it from the back…..are we going to get to see the front? I think you will love how much easier it will be to take care of!

  • 22 Briana Roehling Says:

Will echo the sentiments of others – we need to see the front view now! And as others have said, there are other organizations that will take less than 10″ of your hair. I’m still growing mine so that I can donate it.

  • 23 JM Says:

Do you still have the ponytail? Locks of Love will accept shorter hair. From their website:

Shorter hair will be separated from the ponytails and sold to offset the manufacturing costs. Although the shorter hair cannot be used in the hairpieces, it still greatly helps to reduce costs.

Beautiful. I did locks of love a few years ago. It does make for a pretty dramatic change!

I have to concur with everyone else. You really do have gorgeous hair!

  • 25 Steph Says:

Looks wonderful!!! I have one more inch to grow before I can cut mine and donate it. I’ve donated it two times all ready and both times was to Locks of Love.

  • 26 Kim Warcholik Says:

Wow…can’t believe you did it! How does it feel??? I want to see the front too. :)

  • 27 Natalie Says:

Love it! Makes me ready to chop mine!

  • 28 JoAnna Says:

Your hair looks nice! Do you use a flat iron? I just got mine cut last week and it’s way shorter than I wanted… but I like it.
I’m just discovering your blog. Your “hatred of bare feet” made me laugh and I also enjoy reading so I’m looking forward to following your blog.

  • 29 Kristie Says:

JoAnna, oh my gosh yes, I have to use a flat iron. My hair is very thick, and the texture is very coarse. With a teensy bit of wave to it. I’m a dandelion-head. If the Cowardly Lion mated with a tumbleweed, my head would be the result. So yes, a flat iron is a must. Kristie

Looks great. My 4-year-old had her hair cut last summer for Locks of Love. Great thing. It always looks so healthy after a good cut like yours.
