I take it back

30 April 2010 | Uncategorized

You know what I was saying yesterday, about how I’ve got this new project and I’m having trouble juggling my schedule and getting it all done?  Well, strike that!  I was a test monitor at the school yesterday (oh, state-mandated tests, how we all love you so …..) and I was there for almost five hours, so, I took my laptop and my flash drive and edited almost 400 soccer pictures, in between trips to get the kids a sharpened pencil or a fresh kleenex or whatever else they needed.  I normally could have done them a lot faster than that, but I really miss my mouse, when I’m working on my laptop, and don’t work as quickly with that little finger-thing that clearly requires more hand-eye coordination than I possess.

But still!  Editing 400 pictures, and monitoring the CRT’s at the same time ….. that is definitely some time management!  That’s awesome time management — in fact, I’d say I’m a time-management goddess!  Corporations across the country will be hiring me to speak on my amazing time management skills!  I’ll write books, and lead seminars, and ……..

and……….

and………….

oh my GOSH what is that smell?

Can you guys smell it?  That stench???

What on earth???

Oh, look.  Its the load of towels I put in the washing machine three days ago and then forgot about.

Hmmmmm.

You know all that “I rock at the time management” stuff I was just saying?  Yeah.  Never mind.

If it’s any consolation, I left cooked broccoli in my car for three days. I was convinced some animal had crawled in and died. My time management would be great if I could just stop procrastinating.

Way to put your test monitoring time to some good use! :) And the towels, don’t worry- just add some febreeze and use extra hot water- that smell will come right out…. I should know cause I did the same thing last week! Guess they won’t be hiring me to speak on time management any time soon either.

What happened to the second “C” in the OK state testing? ;) Just kidding. Although it took me a couple of years to get used to “CRCT” after starting off in VA with the SOLs (and did you know I just this spring figured out that was a funny name for the testing–guess we were so ingrained with the “Standards Of Learning” I never noticed the other thing it could stand for). I think I might never get used to dropping that extra “C” though.

Is this the most inane comment you’ve ever gotten on this site? Sorry about that.

Five hours monitoring kids tests?? I would’ve spent it watching five episodes of Glee. Now THAT’S good time management!!!!!

Oh that smell. I know that smell, all to well.
    I don’t multi-task well. At all.

Kristie- not sure if you have a Big Lots nearby but we got a wireless mouse for the laptop for $15.00. Makes a HUGE differnce! they had some as low as $10.00 but this one has the forward/back buttons right on the side near your thumb. Any others we found ran around $30.00.

In our district, we are not allowed to even sit during the test — we must be up and moving around the classroom. Monitoring students, keeping them on task, making sure they are marking their answers in the right portion of the answer booklet, . . . . Plus it makes those daydreamers “snap out of it” and get back to business when you walk by

You still rock! I have those same smelly towels in my washer from time to time. I say it’s the manufacturer’s fault for not adding in a smell-preventer. What were they thinking?
