Kendrie, “Mom, what do you think of my costume for my skit at school? Dad helped me make it. Do you like it?”
Mom: “Sure I do. Are you guys re-enacting a toga party?”
Kendrie, “No.”
Mom: “Are you a ghost?”
Kendrie: “No.”
Mom: “A Roman emperor?”
Kendrie: “No.”
Mom: “So just what exactly *are* you???”
Kendrie, “Duh, I’m JESUS.”
Oh. Of course you are.
And let’s see, your friend next to you is God. Or maybe even Father Time. But probably not the lead singer for ZZ Top, which was my first guess.

LMAO! I couldn’t help but think that it was Toga / ZZ Top costume day at school as well. My favorite part of this picture is actually seeing Kendrie’s smile WITH a little braces showing. :)

Yes, for a public school, I’d say its fairly conservative. Although, our morning prayer has been replaced with a “Moment of Quiet Reflection” and that sort of thing ….. Of course, that’s the beauty of having such a huge number of voluntary transfer students ….. if they weren’t happy here, they wouldn’t have to stay. Kristie

I was shocked my daughter’s school chorus program included the song “Kyrie” and “Gloria” (both Catholic hymns, heavily Catholic area (and we are Catholics too). Away in a manger and a few other religious songs were also sung at Christmas.
In our old state (Nothern VA) older DD was told not to wear a shirt that had a little frog on it and said “Toadily Jesus”. Such a nice change to live in the midwest, where all mention of Jesus and God isn’t forbidden.
