Kind words

01 August 2010 | Pregnancy,Surrogacy

I’ve had many kind words spoken to me over the course of this pregnancy ….. people seem to respond really well to surrogate situations and are almost always supportive and encouraging.  I thought I would share two of the kindest, and clearly most heartfelt, which have taken place over the course of the last 24 hours here at the hospital.

The first, spoken by one of my own children:   “I don’t know, Mom, that shower in there is pretty small …. I’m not sure you can fit in there.”

And the second, spoken by one of my darling nephews, who I love more than life itself, “Wow, Aunt Kristie, I thought after you had a baby your stomach would be a lot smaller than that.”

Yep.  Love those kids.

Congrats on a safe and healthy delivery! So so happy for everyone involved ~ and I am ecstatic for the new momma and daddy! Now you can focus on beating those urchins for all of their “kind” words…

Don’t you just love kids!!! I teach four year olds and a few years back as I was swinging one of my little “ANGELS” he said, “Ms. Debbie, are you having a baby?” I said, “No, Frankie, I’m not..Why do you think that?”. The sweet little angel said, “Well, then you must really like to eat, cause your tummy is HUGE!!”. The little snot!

I get out of jail next month! :)

    Just kidding…maybe!

I wish I could feign surprise at those “kind” comments, but alas, your kids must be learning from my boy. *sigh* Just know that someday, THEY’LL have kids of their own and they will pay for their sins. :<) Congrats, Kristie… being a vessel for life is a pretty amazing thing!

I was a teenager and babysitting my 2 1/2 year old niece. I took her to McDonald’s and the cashier behind the counter was a rather large woman. Of course my gifted niece chose to sing “I don’t want her, you can have her, she’s TOO FAT for me! Loudly and was quite proud of herself. I apologized profusely and the woman was so gracious. Gotta love kids! They just state the obvious. Ugh!!!

Congratulations! The gift you have given this family is so priceless- I absolutely adore reading about your surrogacy.
And yes! I am now only one state away. Meeting up with you one day would definitely lighten up my summer- right now I’m afraid to go outside. (and we *did* find a Tree Roach or two, so it’s been good times. Good. Good times.)

Gotta love kids with no filter at all! My daughter loves to poke me in the belly and ask why its so squishy… It was kinda cute at 2, not so cute at 8.

Too funny Kristie! Even tho my own mother told me a few days after delivering my 3rd that it looked like I still had a baby “in there” so….yea…..

You are amazing!! I am about to have kiddo #1 and was thinking last night, I don’t even know Kristie (really!), but I would take labor & delivery advice from you in a heartbeat. Any words of “wisdom” (besides, “no your stomach won’t be a lot smaller afterward” LOL!!) — really, I’d appreciate it :)

When my daughter was three she was patting my tummy and asking why it was so big. I told her that it was from having her and her sister.
Her reply was “that’s OK Mommy, Pooh Bear has a big tummy too”

    yup…gotta love the little buggers

I was sitting at work listening to some of the “ahem” younger ones discussing how hard it was to lose their baby weight….and how long they had been trying… I agreed with them that it was h@$& and I had been dealing with mine for 19 years…
