Our dog loves to be what we call “upside down” and often sleeps on her back. My DH says she’s just telling us she wants a tummy rub, but whatever the reason, I love it when dogs show their tummies! Barley does look pretty comfortable–is this a preferred sleeping position?

My son brought home a 4 month old chocolate lab Wednesday night. She sleeps like that, too! At this point, I’m trying very hard not to remember all your posts about Barley’s puppyhood. I’ll probably be going through your archives when the honeymoon period is over, though!

We currently have one of our dogs in a cage (he ruptured a disc in his back and his movement has to be severely restricted). The cage is very small (again, to restrict his movement), but he can still manage to get himself into that exact position every night to sleep! It must be really comfortable, because it doesn’t cause him any pain and he’s actually able to sleep like that! Ahh, dogs are the best :-)

I have a picture of my Golden Cocker Spaniel in the same position but she is lying on the loveseat with her head hanging off the edge.
