On second thought …
Remember how I told you how much I love that my kids are attending a small school? And how I especially love that there are no “feeder” schools into the middle school, or the high school? That the kids just stay with the same classmates all the way through graduation, and how the elementary, middle and high school are all physically connected …. and how that allows a great sense of community, and student-to-student mentoring, and level of comfort for everyone?
Um, yeah.
Kendrie, aged only 10, lest you forget, came up to me tonight and said, “Mom, when I was leaving school today a couple of high school girls walked past me and one of them said, ‘So, I hear Natalie’s going to have sex with him tonight.’ How does sex work, anyway, Mom?”
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
On second thought, homeschooling, or perhaps even a youth convent, is looking more and more appealing.

I hear you. I had to get into a lot of details on drugs with my 5 year old because of Red Ribbon week at his school.

I hear ya! We had to go over Blowjob 101 the FIRST DAY oldest DD started 6th grade at the middle school. She was only 11:( Hopefully since your school is so small, it will be easy to pinpoint who “Natalie” is and get her ass on some birth control! Or better still, put her in a convent…

Yikes, so sad that premarital sex is so accepted among teenagers that these girls would discuss it in the midsts of elementary school children. There’s a question for you—- In your opinion, when should a parent have “that” discussion with their children? And, how in the heck do you have such a conversation?

Kristie,
I know, wait until your kids come home and know more than you do. I’ve learned alot from mine in Jr. high and wow High school is a whole new world! I don’t even want to know what she will hear in college. We had to explain sex in Kindergarden when she came home saying “no name” asked her to have it with him on recess!!

I swear I’m not having sex with anyone tonight.
And FYI, my 9 year old son was shown hard core porn on the Internet by a friend a few weeks ago. Hmmm, parental controls anyone? That spawned some interesting conversations.

I’ve been explaining the ins and outs of bodies and sex since my kids were old enough to talk. All age appropriate of course. But that still doesn’t mean I’d want my kids to hear something like that and come home and ask me. What did you end up saying?

UUUGGGHHH! Where is Brett when you need him…he could have explained and given playground demonstrations. Totally taken the responsibility and pressure off of you! :)
Totally unrelated, but love the picture! I hope there are a ton more that you will be sharing! Kellen is so close to catching you! Adorable!

Oh my! Those high school girls really need to watch who is in their company when they decide to discuss such inappropriate topics!
