Our weekend, in pictures

Birthdays are fun.  Even belated ones.

They are more fun with friends.

They are the most fun when violent athletics are not only included, but encouraged.

Because really, show me a world where 12 yr old boys (and even one 40 year old man) don’t enjoy whacking each other with dodgeballs.

Then we move on to soccer, where being a goalie is awesome.

Or, maybe sometimes, a little lonely.  But that’s ok, because it just means your team is doing really well on the other end of the field.

And if you get excited enough, you can always resort to cartwheels between halves.

End on a high note, with Easter — lunch, coloring eggs, and hunting for chocolate-gum-and-money-filled treats.

Whisper sweet nothings into my son’s ear.  Oh, no …. wait.  I wasn’t whispering sweet nothings.  I was telling him that if he didn’t knock off the attitude, straighten up and fly right, that I swear to high heavens I would put him over my knee and spank him right there in front of all his cousins do you understand me mister I’m not even kidding around and I don’t care if its Easter you better get it together buddy because you and that smart mouth of yours are getting on my last nerve  …..   thanks, Cliff, for capturing that special moment on film.

I think its especially classy how none of my children are wearing shoes for Easter.  Of course, then I looked over and realized one of my nephews wasn’t wearing pants.  So I guess it’s all relative.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I appear to have contracted a good old fashioned spring cold.  I have sneezed and coughed my way through the entire weekend.  First I’m hot, then I’m cold.  First I’m stuffed up, then I’m two-fisting Kleenex.  I’m going to go to bed now and try not to cough up the *other* lung.  I’m sure my sister really enjoyed hosting me for lunch today and watching me hack all over her kitchen.

Thanks, Kelly, and sorry for the germs.  We had fun, regardless!

You mean after all that you actually had time to catch a cold? lol
I have to ask where did Brayden get her T-shirt? My 13 yr old would love one.
And by the way, shoes are way overrated. Happy Belated Easter :-)

Yeah, I figured by the death grip you had on his arm, there was was some chewing going on! Love it! And hey, if there’s no snow, why would you wear shoes? We have a girl that sings in our church band who never wears shoes and noticed yesterday that she has corrupted the Pastor’s 16 year old who was also singing barefoot. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Looks like an awesome day or week. Love the hair! Can’t believe your kids weren’t wearing shoes…looks like they should be Warcholiks. Is that Kelly’s house??? It looks so pretty! Love to all!

I have to ask… is your husband wearing a Twilight t-shirt?

Dear Kristie – happy (belated!!) Easter. Oh, and thanks so much {{{HEAVY sarcasm added}}} for hooking me on Glee. The house is now over-run – with Glee magazine articles, Glee DVDs, Glee CDs, Glee pictures, Glee, Glee, Glee. Everywhere. My cubemates at work are ready to murder me for humming Smile a million times a day with my earphones on so that they ONLY get to hear me and not Corey Monteith’s excellent harmonies. I may not live through to the end of the week. So, just wanted to say thanks. And ask how the HECK I’m gonna survive until April 13th. Any suggestions???!!!!! Help! Oh, one further benefit of full-on Glee addiction: my sixteen-year-old son now thinks I’m an even BIGGER dweeb than he thought I was before and so now I can embarass him even more than I used to……

Becka, no, the front of it says “The Light” and the back of it says “Team Jesus” ….. a birthday gift from Kendrie. :) Kristie

Liz, I know, we are counting down until the 13th as well. And keeping it in heavy rotation in the car. :) Kristie

Kristi, where have I been, you chopped your hair off? Happy late Easter, enjoyed all the pictures, the kids are growing. Hugs from Fort Worth!

I forgot about your haircut, so when I saw someone whispering sweet nothings into Kellen’s ear, I examined her, trying to discern who she might be and what her relationship with your son might be. Then I read that it was YOU!

It looks good from the front, too. Do you like it, yet?

  • 12 Kristie Says:

I like the front; I like the sides. I still think the back is too long because it sticks out …. am seriously missing my pony-tail option, however!! Kristie
