SPT December 15

15 December 2009 | SPT Challenge

sptlogobrown

I have been really lax about doing my Self Portrait Challenges these past three or four weeks, which is coincidentally, the same length of time I have been without my computer, and now without my camera.  And since things are saved on my desktop, and more importantly than that, I am extremely lazy, it just seemed easier not to do them.  But for posterity sake, I feel I should plug on and finish out the project for the year …. only three weeks to go, right?

As per the SPT Challenge from last year, the entire month of December is devoted to attributes such as “Joy”, “Love”, “Faith”, etc.  Seems fitting, for Christmas.

But my “Joy” today is not Christmas related at all.

Can you guess what we were doing four years ago today???

Yep, this is joy right here ….. joy in normal, healthy life.

PS.  Even if her annual oncology check up is tomorrow, which always makes me a little bit nervous, even when there is absolutely no sign or indication that anything is wrong …. still ….. nervous, as always.   But joyful.

I assume 4 years ago was Kendrie’s last dose of medication? Your link doesn’t seem to be working, but if that’s it…HOORAY!!! I’m sure her appt will go just fine and you won’t have to worry for another whole year! Merry Christmas!

Was that really 4 years ago??? My kids still talk about Kendrie ‘kicking cancer’s butt’ party. Wow time flies. She looks great with the short ‘do!

I can’t believe that it has been four years since Kendrie came off treatment! OK I read it on FB :) I can’t believe it has been that long since I started following the Escoes’ journey!

Wow!! I bet it seems like a long time ago and like yesterday all at the same time. Here’s to a perfectly normal checkup.. And I understand the nervous- I get that way every time before my son’s yearly cardiology echo and ekg. Its a mom thing and I don’t think it will ever go away. Yay for normal!

It thrills me that Kendrie has had 4 healthy years since ending her cancer treatment. I pray that she’ll have 4-score more cancer-free years. This is a wonderful anniversary to remember and take joy in. God bless Kendrie and all the Escoes.

Four years, wow!!! I also begin following Kendrie’s journey on Caringbridge five years ago. I had a friend of my sister’s whose son was batteling cancer at the same time. He too is cancer free, 41/2 years now. I continue praying for Kendrie to stay cancer free, as well as for the rest of your family. You all are such an inspiration to me. God Bless you all.

    Good luck with the appointment.

Know what I’m joyful for? That I’m all caught up on your blog. That all of those crazy problems you’ve had for the past two months (or more?) did not keep you from blogging. That (I think) the feed reader is working now, so I can get updates shown to me. That your family is all together and happy.

What about Blaine’s pet scan? Did that come back normal? (You don’t have to answer if you’re keeping that private for now.)

    Congratulations Kendrie.

  • 13 Dawn Greer Says:

Congrats Kendrie!! I totally get the nerves thing. Clayton will be OT 3 years in Jan. We still go every 3 months. We plan to graduate to 6 months in Jan. It’s totally my security blanket!

I can not believe it has been 4 years! If I think about it logically it makes sense, but to say it has been 4 years is amazing. Congratulations, and I will be waiting to hear how the check goes.
