I can't wait to see pictures! We painted our family room yellow years ago- and the same thing happened to us. When the afternoon sun would hit- Big Bird massacre. I wound up repainting, and chose Pratt and Lambert's Jamaican Rum. By that point, I might have been trying to drink the paint, but it worked!

We did that yellow in our bathroom. It's awful. Some day we will get around to remodeling and then changing it. In the meantime, it DOES have the added benefit that when my son pees on the wall I can't always tell...oh wait...that's supposed to be a down side...

It's good to hear that the project is finally coming to a close. I can't wait to see pics. We painted our hallway once with (what I thought was) a very pale blue. It turned out to be bright sky blue and all I could do was laugh when I saw it. We immediately painted over it. :)

We just built a new home and I too picked a buttercup yellow for the back stairs. Oddly though, ours looks like a wierd yellow green because of the light. I have decided that those little paint swatches should be illegal...talk about false advertising! I finally started painting scraps of sheetrock with the chosen colors and life was much better and cheaper (no more repainting) after that. Good luck to you...remodeling is not for the faint hearted!

You might find after you live with the color that it grows on you. We recently picked out a paint for our living room and as it went on we just about died and thought we had made the biggest mistake of our lives--it was so bright! But now it is subtle and we hardly notice it.

We painted our family room/kitchen yellow a couple of years ago. It was a huge change from the medium taupe! At first, I thought I'd made a huge mistake because it looked so bright, but once I got the pictures on the wall, moved the furniture back, added my decorative things, and window treatments, I absolutely love it. It's my favorite room in my house. I have pics, but I'd like to see your hallway, too.

I can hardly wait to see the pictures! I feel your pain regarding remodeling, I went through 8 monthsof that. In a small bedroom with a queen and a twin bed leaving an 8 inch path thru the room. Oh did I mention my cat and her cat box were in the same room? That is why I will never remodel again! Or perhaps it was when I returned from vacation expecting my kitchen to be done as well as the bathrooms. Kitchen cabinets were still in the boxes, no sink with running water at all, one functioning toilet without a door, and a house full of guy's not working very hard. Good luck, sounds like it will be over soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing! We are having our living room re-done (more casual from formal) and I am trying to pick out a super light yellow paint. As in, more cream colored than yellow. Yellow paints can be scary, though!
